Stretch to opposite spreader bar and attach.
When stretching band, try to stretch the upper portion of the band as tight as possible, leaving the lower portion with as much slack as possible, since this will be the portion that will be stretched the most.
Hold band with both thumbs on top and both index fingers on the end of spreader bars.
Start stretching lower portion of band with remaining fingers.

Continue until band is in groove at the end of the pull back rod.
Ensure band isn't twisted when attaching to pull back rod and in the groove at the end of the pull back rod.
Hold the castrator by the side grip handle. Side Grip may be removed and placed on other side if needed.
With other hand, pull the rod back until the band slips through the hole where you placed the clip.
Make sure the Castrator is facing upright, since the clip may slip out of the slot.

Castrator is now ready to use.
Firmly grip the scrotum and squeeze it a couple of times to work some of the fatty tissue downward. As if you were "Milking" a cow.
Continue holding the scrotum.
Slip the scrotum through the band. Placing the band just above the testicles. DO NOT PLACE BAND NEXT TO THE BELLY. Just below it.
Release the band from the Castrator.
To release band, continue holding scrotum with the same hand. Pull (jerk) the Castrator back with the other hand. Don't let the scrotum move while performing this.
Let the base of the Castrator rest next to the scrotum and let the scrotum hang naturally. No need to pull back on the Castrator at this time.
Re-establish your grip on the Castrator. Place one hand on the side grip and one on the pull back rod.
Pull back the rod as far as possible. While performing these steps, be careful NOT to hit the blade handle. Doing so will cut the band.
Continue tightening with pistol grip handle until it is very difficult to tighten anymore.
There is a small stop weld on the pull back rod which will stop the rod from tightening any further if you make it this far.
Use crimping handle to crimp aluminum retaining clip. Crimp until the handle stops. Crimp a second time to ensure clip is tight.
Now use the blade handle to cut the band.

Inspect band to ensure no twists are present, and not to close to belly.
Inspect clip to ensure it is on correctly.
Push pull back rod to original position. To do this, push and release the release switch located at the base of the pistol grip handle.
